Visiting Elderslie, New South Wales, Australia

Elderslie is a suburb of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, which is a part of the Camden Council and is located on the east side of the Nepean River.

Elderslie belonged to the Tharawal people, who were the aboriginal inhabitants of the South of Sydney and the Illawarra region until 1788; though some anthropologists that have studied the area say that Elderslie could also have been residence for the Darug People. traditional custodians for much of modern Sydney - or the Gandangara People, a very friendly people; the land has gone through early settlements and the Macarthurs who, through the use of Merinos Sheep. managed to develop prime quality wool to ship to England with the support of the King.

But Elderslie nowadays is more of a residential place. Having said that, there is no need to bore yourself to death in this beautiful suburb; you are within driving distance from some of the most beautiful and exiting things to do in the places near to Elderslie.

How about a horse ride? Then call into the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park. This park, near The Ridges of Elderslie, has the option for a membership for Recreational Riders amongst a variety of activities that you can do in the club. And if you are not that into horse back riding, then you can visit the noted places in Elderslie, and go to the Macarthur Centre for sustainable living or the Macarthur Park with its beautiful heritage rose garden, the wisteria walk and many more things in Elderslie.

If you come to visit Elderslie in the right season, then be sure to come in the time of the Camden Show with amusement park attractions inside the makings of a state fair, or maybe book an accommodation inside The Ridges of Elderslie and go to Narellan to the Oran Park Raceway and spend the day.

If you arrive to The Ridges of Elderslie through plane, it's likely that you will arrive to Camden Airport; take your time and take advantage of the situation and go gliding or skydiving before driving to The Ridge in Elderslie and set your accommodations.

However you choose to do it, you can see there is so much to do and to see in The Ridges of Elderslie and in the suburb of Elderslie! Naturally, do take the time to visit the wineries; one of the most popular is 'Cobbitty Wines' to name one, but you can ask your hotel or accommodation manager and see if there is any wineries nearby to where you will be staying.

Whatever you decide to do in your holiday time, one thing is for sure: You will have lots and lots of different activities to choose from, regardless if you are an adrenalin junkie or just a mellow type looking for deep rest and relaxation.
